More than 60 drivers from one of Birmingham’s biggest taxi companies have converted their vehicles to run on LPG fuel, which complies with forthcoming clean air requirements and saves the drivers money.
TOA Taxis - a not-for-profit organisation wholly owned and run by its drivers - took advantage of government support to assist taxi drivers in converting to the more cost-effective approach to getting around, which also significantly reduces air pollution.
A number of TOA’s drivers have encouraged their industry colleagues to consider making the change, citing improvements in air quality, significant fuel cost savings and avoiding upcoming Clean Air Zone charges as major benefits.
